MCGREGOR, TX (September 24, 2016) — TFNB Your Bank for Life announced that Family Health Center has been selected a Charity Champion.  As a Charity Champion, TFNB will fund a marketing campaign that will raise awareness for Family Health Center. The goal of the campaign is to help the nonprofit meet their current needs.  Family Health Center is asking for monetary donations to upgrade their imaging services. With new regulations, FHC is required to upgrade from Computerized Radiography to “low dose” Digital Radiography. The transition will be expensive, however, it will provide superior imaging and smaller doses of radiation to their patients.  The cost of upgrading imaging to the required technology is $220,000 or $55,000 per imaging facility.  In conjunction with the upgrade, the Center plans to add CT scanning capabilities.    “Being named a Charity Champion, we hope to further enhance our efforts to improve the health of our community,” said Roland Goertz, MD, CEO of Family Health Center. “We will work to do this by improving access to excellent primary and preventive healthcare services to the vulnerable and underserved residents of the Heart of Texas and by educating tomorrow’s family physicians and other healthcare professionals.”  About Family Health Center Family Health Center was founded in 1969 in Waco, Texas to address issues such as the shortage of doctors, lack of primary care access for unfortunate individuals and economic development issues. Specifically, FHC focuses on providing medical treatment to the economically disadvantaged in the Central Texas area.
